Pregnancy Massage
with Lisa

All the benefits of a therapeutic massage specifically tailored for the mother to be.

Pregnancy massage has many benefits for mom and baby.
*promotes relaxation and reduces stress
*relieves aches, pains, and muscle cramps/spasms
*increases circulation to help reduce swelling
*helps ease anxiety and depression
*helps prepare your body for labor

Massage during pregnancy differs slightly from a regular massage. The biggest being that your position during the session will take into consideration the safety, well-being, and comfort of the mother and the baby. To do this, the therapist may use pillows or other props so that you are in a comfortable semi-reclined position or on your side.

It is also tailored to the needs of the mom to be and her changing body. It is important that your therapist has knowledge of pregnancy and the changes your body will go through during the 9 months you will carry. It is also good idea that the therapist has some additional training in prenatal massage to know and understand how to adjust specific massage techniques accordingly.

After the baby is delivered, massage can help restore the body to its pre-pregnancy state. It will help to ease muscle soreness and reduce the stress of carrying and caring for a newborn baby. Massage also supports your body's hormones returning to their non-childbearing levels and helps to ease any anxiety or depression associated with this change.

No matter where you are in the childbearing year, pregnancy massage may have many benefits for you and your baby.
